Starting in the real estate industry in 1983 and educated in real estate and finance at UCLA (as well as endless books and training since), Scott began his career by doing fixer upper homes, then fixing and owning rentals–to which he continues actively today, obtained a construction contracting license for his personal and client-centric projects, sold real estate and ran a real estate brokerage as a full real estate broker, developed residential and commercial property for rental and sale, created profitable partnerships and syndications for his clients, and has developed mortgage planning models and software to enhance his client’s insight and financial success in the area of real estate that he is currently financing.
Scott uses his varied successful background to bring a unique skill set and perspective to his clients, where he views and uses the mortgage as a tool to optimize his client’s financial success, cash flow, liquidity, asset and debt balance.
Scott focuses on long-term client relationships, managing the client’s debt in coordination with others on their financial team (if any), such as their asset adviser, insurance agent, REALTOR and CPA.
Scott is an active and sought after speaker, writer and consultant regarding mortgage planning techniques, time and sales management for REALTORS, personal financial mastery, and successful real estate investing. Scott owns Coldstream Technologies and Layden Real Estate (an investing company).
Personally, Scott is married with two children, is active in church ministries for the homeless, and enjoys flying, snow and water skiing, tennis, and music.
